Grief Vigil for Beloved Black Lives hosted by Embodied Black Girl
Description
✨This gathering is open only to Black folks. Thank you for honoring this space.✨
As we celebrate Black History Month, it's also important to acknowledge that as a community we're also hurting in many ways. The recent brutal murder of Tyre Nichols by police complicates our pain because Black officers are involved. There are many more Black lives that have been stolen by police violence known and unknown.
So much of the grief we've experienced in the past few years has not been unprocessed. However, grief needs space to be witnessed in community.
Grief Vigil for Beloved Black Lives is about creating that space to honor and process our individual and collective grief.
During this gathering we'll be honoring the lives we've lost at the hands of police violence. You're invited to bring a candle and something to light it with. We'll also be holding space for the grief that we're each carrying so you'll have individual time to honor your grief. During this time you can choose to rest, or journal, or move or do anything else that feels honoring in this moment.
Please join us for our collective cry.
Our grief tenders will be Embodied Black Girl Founder Thérèse Cator along with Somatic Coach + Birth Doula Natalee Facey
