How Technology Is an Essential Part of the Reproductive Justice Movement

Reproductive Justice (RJ) is a movement, an orientation to the world, a value system. While it’s difficult to put all of this into words because it is multifaceted and layered, I often return to Sister Song’s definition of RJ: “the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities.”

Each word in this definition holds weight for me. Each word highlights my why– the reasons I keep showing up for this work day after day. Let these ones land with you: 

Human right. 

Bodily autonomy. 

Parent.

Children. 

Safe.
