June is here and my thoughts and feelings are all over the place! It's Pride month, a time I love to celebrate, and it's also the 1 year anniversary of the overturning of Roe, pure chaos. One minute, I feel hopeful and other times, the darkness feels relentless. However, we can be both joyful and ready to blow shit up, both fearful and faithful and both exhausted and ready to continue this work. It's all a part of the process. This month I want to share one of my favorite playlist, Neo Soulful playlist by kendallxcel. Enjoy!

BADT Online Childbirth Educator Training | June 2023 | The BADT 12-week online Childbirth Educator Training gives doulas and educators the knowledge and tools necessary to provide inclusive, trauma-informed, comprehensive, and evidence-based education to birthing people in their communities. In addition to the typical topics found in childbirth education, we will also be covering the following topics: paths to conception consent, trauma and boundaries, mental health and trauma, pregnancy/birth and disability, Inclusive lactation and infant feeding, and grief and loss. We want our educators to not only have a basic knowledge of pregnancy, labor, and birth but an in-depth and inclusive understanding of all aspects and realities of birth and birthing people.

Annastasia Wells Scholarship Fund | This scholarship fund was designed in honor of one of our students Annastasia Wells, who has chosen to receive Medical Assistance in Dying in March 2023. Donations for this Community Care Stipend will be used to support current and future students in the BADT community. We are honored that Anna has considered how to contribute to the BADT community, even in parting; and, we are thrilled that they get to witness this impact come to life. Anyone who has been close to Annastasia knows that they are constantly considering what the care needs are of those around them. And so, we felt it was most aligned to create a community care stipend as a tribute to Anna - a careworker as invested in caring for careworkers, themselves, as they are invested in caring for clients.
BlackECE Juneteenth Campaign for Liberation | Despite being a state that wears its progressive values like a badge of honor, California continuously fails its Black residents.
